The undergraduate program in Political Science and International Relations aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills through which they can deeply grasp political, cultural and economic developments at national and global level and acquire the qualifications sought in the national and global environment and labor markets. It also aims to provide students with a scientific understanding of social facts and phenomena, that would enable them to uncover the roots of common perceptions and practices, to question them when necessary, and to come up with policy proposals when possible. Such a goal necessitates the students to be equipped with a knowledge of political theory, history as well as of political economy and scientific methods in social sciences.

Graduates of the program will be able to better analyze societies and their culture, national and global institutions and the politics of countries’ foreign policies, in doing so, they will have responsive and flexible career opportunities in today’s working conditions after graduation. On the one hand, they will have better job opportunities in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other public institutions, internationally linked non-governmental organizations, social research sector, and international institutions and markets, on the other hand, they will increase their chances of continuing their graduate studies in the most prestigious universities in fields ranging from international relations to management, political science, sociology and economics.

The graduate program in Political Science at Sabancı University provides integrated training at MA and PhD levels.The program offers a comprehensive and up-to-date review of the major fields of Political Science and provides the students with a rigorous conceptual framework, basic analytical tools and sound methodological training in the discipline. The program covers the major fields of Political Science (Comparative Politics, International Relations, Political Theory) and offers a rich set of specialization possibilities. With a thematic concentration on Turkish Politics, Middle Eastern Politics, and European Politics, the program stands out among its competitors in Turkey by its courses and faculty members specializing in formal theory and the production and analysis of quantitative evidence.
